Sourdough Stories:
Fascinating Tales of the Pioneers who Changed Yukon's History
The Klondike Gold Rush attracted thousands of adventurers to Canada’s Yukon between 1897 and 1899. Some of these pioneers made their mark on the region and left to follow the lure of gold to other places, but many stayed to build their families and help Yukon grow into the thriving territory it is today.
From the traders and surveyors who first mapped the Yukon region to famed dancehall girl Klondike Kate who kicked up her heels to the delight of miners in Dawson City, Sourdough Stories follows the lives of more than 40 of these remarkable people.
MacBride Museum is pleased to release its first historical non-fiction book. This book features information and photographs from MacBride’s collection and archive. This is part of a series of books that we plan to publish over the next few years.
Sourdough Stories is now available at MacBride Museum’s Gift Shop and through other Yukon booksellers.
Yukon Activity Books
MacBride Museum has created four unique Yukon-themed activity books: Yukon Transportation Activity Book, Yukon Animals Activity Book, Yukon ABCs Colouring Book and Yukon Gold Rush Activity Book. MacBride Museum would like to thank the Yukon Government for funding the creation of these publications. We would also like to thank Northern Freegold Resources Ltd. for sponsoring the Yukon Gold Rush Activity Book.
